Jokowi Asks For His Examination To Be Held At The Surakarta Police

The 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has asked for the examination process in cases of alleged defamation and slander related to allegations of fake diplomas at the Surakarta Police.

The request was submitted by his attorney, Yakub Hasibuan. According to him, there were several reasons behind the request addressed to the Polda Metro Jaya investigator.

"We ask investigators so that Pak Jokowi can also be questioned at the Surakarta Police," Yakub told VOI, Tuesday, July 22.

The reason behind the request was the health condition of Jokowi. Then, the Metro Police investigators are also said to be in Solo.

The existence of investigators to examine several other witnesses in cases of alleged defamation and slander related to allegations of fake diplomas. It was recorded that eight witnesses were examined.

"That's right, because we just found out from the media that investigators have been and are currently on solo to examine other witnesses, so as to facilitate the investigation process," said Yakub.

Jokowi is known to have failed to fulfill the summons for questioning at the Polda Metro Jaya which is scheduled for Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Jokowi's absence was due to activities that could not be abandoned. However, his legal team is said to have coordinated with investigators regarding this matter.

"Last Thursday we wrote asking for a postponement because there was an agenda that could not be abandoned," said Yakub.
