Prabowo Considers Gerindra-PDIP Like Brothers, Said Abdullah: Don't Mean It Will Enter The Government

JAKARTA - PDIP DPP chairman Said Abdullah responded to President Prabowo Subianto's statement that the Gerindra Party and PDIP were brothers and sisters. He appreciated Prabowo's statement, but PDIP should not mean that PDIP will join the government.

"If the president says that in front of the chairman of the DPR, for me really, I would like to express my highest appreciation to the President. That is beyond the meaning of a friend," said Said at the DPR building, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 22.

"But) Do not mean what the president said as a code, that the president invites or vice versa PDIP to enter (the government), do not interpret it first. As a nation, this is the basic capital of our unity," he continued.

The chairman of the DPR Banggar then asked the public not to interpret Prabowo's statement as a transactional view. According to him, President Prabowo's sincerity must be seen as a form of desire to maintain a healthy relationship between political forces.

That's our problem. We always have a transactional perspective. The president sincerely conveys his brothers and sisters, we mean that PDIP will enter, we mean the president will invite him. It can't be like that," said Said.

Previously, Prabowo conveyed the relationship between Gerindra and PDIP such as brothers and sisters at the inauguration of the Red and White Village Cooperative in Klaten, Central Java, Monday, July 21.

"I said Bung Karno belonged to all Indonesian people. Yuwun throughout Mbak Puan, Bung Karno my father too, maybe if he was cut (pointing his chest), Marhaen would come out too. This is actually PDIP and Gerindra, this is my brother," he joked.
