Died While Securing The Governor's Children's Party, Bripka Cecep Naik Prakat Anumerta

GARUT - The atmosphere of grief enveloped the big family of the Garut Resort Police (Polres) after one of its members, Bripka Cecep Saipul Bahri, died while securing the People's Party which is part of the wedding series of the son of the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, with the Deputy Regent of Garut, Luthfianisa Putri Karlina. The deceased, who served at the Karangpawitan Police, breathed his last due to severe fatigue and shortness of breath while helping residents in crowds in the Garut Regency Hall area.

As a form of respect, the Indonesian National Police gave the posthumous promotion to the deceased from Bripka to Aipda. The decree on promotion was signed directly by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo with Number: Kep/1085/VII/2025.

Garut Police Chief AKBP Yugi Bayu Hendarto directly submitted the Decree on the Promotion of the Anumerta to the family of the deceased at the funeral home at Perum Guntur Residence, Garut Kota District. In his remarks, the Police Chief expressed his deep sorrow for the death of one of his best members.

"This award is a form of respect for the state and institutions for the service of the deceased who died in duty. Hopefully it can be a matter of pride for the families left behind," said AKBP Yugi with emotion, Saturday, July 19.

According to the Police Chief, Bripka Cecep showed extraordinary dedication when the tragedy of pressure occurred in front of the Garut Hall gate. At that time, he tried to help residents, including children and the elderly, who fainted and had difficulty breathing. However, during the rescue process, the condition of the deceased actually worsened due to very heavy mass pressure.

"He worked hard to help the community, but ended up experiencing shortness of breath and fatigue until he finally died when he was rushed to the hospital," explained the Police Chief.

This tragedy not only killed Bripka Cecep, but also claimed the lives of two civilians, namely an 8-year-old child named Vania Aprilia and an elderly woman named Dewi Jubaeda (61), both of whom were residents of Garut.

The Head of the West Java Regional Police, Inspector General Pol Rudi Setiawan, also visited the funeral home and expressed his condolences directly to the family of the deceased. The Kapolda also held a prayer together at the tomb of Aipda Cecep Saipul Bahri.

"On behalf of myself and the institution, I express my deep condolences. The deceased is the best member of the National Police who died in his duties. May the bereaved family be given fortitude and strength," said the Kapolda.

The Garut Police Chief also added that this award in the form of posthumous promotion is not only a form of formal appreciation, but also a reminder that every service in duty, no matter how small, is a form of invaluable service for society, nation and state.

"This posthumous promotion is also a reminder that dedication in duty, no matter how small, is part of service to an invaluable nation and country," he stressed.

This tragic event is in the public spotlight because it occurred in a series of wedding parties for two important figures in West Java, which should have been lively but actually left deep sorrow.

Now, Aipda Cecep is remembered not only as a dedicated member of the National Police, but also as a hero who died in a noble task of protecting and protecting the people until the end of their lives.
