Wamenaker Regrets Palma Duta Group Which Polices Workers Who Complain About Detention Of Diplomas
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan regretted the steps taken by the Palma Data Group to report workers after complaining to the Labor service of Deputy Minister (BTW) regarding the detention of diplomas.
Noel said the company should have complained to the police and not an employee.
Duta Palma is unfair. I should have complained about me as Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker), not Hebbi Tarnando who complained to us through BTW. Duta Palma has the wrong address," he said while accompanying Hebbi who was complained about the ITE Law article, Monday, June 14.
Meeting the South Jakarta Police's summons for complaints from the Palma Ambassador Group, Hebbi Tarnando came with Wamenaker Immanuel.
The charges against Hebbi, defamation and violation of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE).
Through the Whatsapp number 0811-2024-008, Hebbi complained that there was a detention of diplomas in a number of Duta Palma Group companies.
Based on the complaint, Wamenaker Immanuel conducted a surprise inspection (sidak), and Duta Palma acknowledged such practices.
Duta Palma then complained about Hebbi Tarnando, because it was based on Hebbi's complaint that made Wamenaker Immanuel hold an inspection.
"So Duta Palma's wrong address should have complained about me as Wamenaker, not complained about Hebbi," he said.
Immanuel said that the practice of detention of diplomas was a violation of the law. Moreover, if you require certain money for the redeemation of diplomas, it will be subject to articles of embezzlement and extortion.
If you complain about employees for reporting to BTW, according to Immanuel, it is tantamount to complaining about the state because it opens services to accommodate employee complaints. In fact, the task of the state is to protect employees.
"So if it is reported, it is the same as complaining about a country that is carrying out its duties. But I am sure that the police who receive complaints from the Palma Ambassador will be objective, I am sure the police will have a clear investigation," he said.
