DVI Identifies One Body Of Victim Of Malaysian Shipwreck

BANYUWANGI - The East Java Regional Police Disaster Victim Identification Team (DVI) finally managed to identify three of the four bodies of the victims of the sinking ship KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya, one of whom was a foreign national (WNA) from Malaysia.

Kasubdit Dokpol Polda Jatim AKBP Adam Bimantoro revealed the first identified body, namely Noval Hardiansyah (15) male resident of Singojuruh Village/District, Banyuwangi Regency.

"This was identified based on medical and property ownership (property belonging to the victim)," said AKBP Adam Bimantoro at a press conference at Blambangan Hospital, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, Thursday, July 10.

Furthermore, the body which was also identified as male was based on the teeth and property of ownership in the name of Sofyan Wibowo (18), a resident of Susukan District, Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java.

"And the bodies of the three identified as foreign nationals (WNA) Fauzey Bin Awang (58) based on medical and property ownership of the victim (domet and identity)," said Adam.

Meanwhile, another body, he continued, was female with the characteristics of wearing blue jeans shorts found on Plengkung Beach, Alas Purwo National Park area, Tegaldlimo District (Banyuwangi) on Thursday (10/7) has not been identified.

"The bodies found at Plengkung Beach (Banyuwangi) have not been identified," said AKBP Adam Bimantoro.

Data from the SAR Operations Post and the Potential for Joint SAR at Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi, stated that until the ninth day of the search, Thursday (10/7) night, the death toll was 15 people (one identification process), 30 people were found safe, and 20 people were still missing and are being searched.
