2,269 Joint Personnel Deployed To Secure Papuan PSU

Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Jan Makatita, said that 2,269 joint personnel are currently being prepared to secure the re-voting (PSU) in Papua.

The joint personnel consist of the TNI-Polri and linmas who will later be tasked with securing the implementation of PSU at TPS-TPS spread across nine districts and cities.

"Various preparations have now been made, including plans to shift personnel which will be carried out five days before voting day," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Jan Makatita, in Jayapura, Thursday, July 10.

The Papuan Police have also scheduled a troop deployment meeting regarding the readiness to secure the PSU.

"The community is also expected to participate in maintaining security starting from their residence until the implementation of the PSU takes place without any security disturbances," hoped Kombes Makatita.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Papua KPU, Diana Simbiak, separately said that various current readiness had been carried out, including logistical checks and the multiplicating of ballots.

All logistics are currently in districts and cities and will be distributed according to schedule.

"The PSU will be held on August 6, followed by two pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor," said the chairman of the Papua KPU.
