Prosecutors Search Alex Noerdin's House Regarding Allegations Of Cinde Market Corruption

PALEMBANG - The Special Crime Investigation Team of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Sumsel) searched the house of former South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin regarding the alleged corruption case of the revitalization of Cinde Market, on Jalan Merdeka, Palembang City.

Monitoring at the location, the prosecutor's team of investigators arrived at Alex Noerdin's residence at around 10.30 WIB and completed the search process at around 14.38 WIB.

After the search, the team was seen carrying a suitcase that allegedly contained important documents related to the project's activities.

Kasipenkum South Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Vanny Yulia Eka Sari said the results of the search of the suspect's house, then confiscated several data, documents and letters deemed necessary and related to cases of alleged corruption in the stalled Cinde Market revitalization project.

"The search at the location is running safely, orderly and conducive," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 10.

Previously, investigators from the South Sumatra Prosecutor's Office had also searched three houses belonging to the other suspects, namely Rainmar Yosandi, Edi Hermanto, and Harnojoyo on Wednesday (9/7).

In this case, the South Sumatra Prosecutor's Office has named five people as suspects, namely Rainmar Yosandi (Head of PT Magna Beatum Branch), Alex Noerdin (former Governor of South Sumatra), Edi Hermanto (Chairman of the Committee for the Procurement of Business Entities for Cooperation Bangun Guna Serah), Aldrin Tando (Director of PT Magna Beatum) and Harnojoyo (former Mayor of Palembang).

The investigation of the case is currently being carried out to explore the involvement of the parties and losses to the state in the project which is still stalled.
