Sudah Ditegur Tetap Bandel, 7 Ponton Tambang Liar Ore Timah Di Bangka Barat Disita Polisi

JAKARTA - Police arrested seven pounds of lead ore wild mining in the waters of England's Mentok Bay, West Bangka.

"We have made several appeals and warnings to miners not to park the pontoon at that location, but they did not comply, so on Monday (July 7) afternoon we took firm action with control and confiscated seven units of pontoons and mining equipment," said Head of the West Bangka Police Public Relations Section Iptu Yos Sudarso in Mentok, Monday, July 8, confiscated by Antara.

In addition to being a form of seriousness of the West Bangka Police in eradicating tin ore illegal mining activities in the waters, this control is also an action to refute the involvement of Satpolair personnel in illegal mining in the British Gulf of Mentok.

Rumors circulated accusing tin ore illegal mining in British Bay of Mentok of operating, and West Bangka Police Satpolairud personnel received a deposit from miners of IDR 300,000 per unit.

"This issue was deliberately raised by parties who were disturbed by the firm steps taken by law enforcement officials. The wild narrative began to circulate along with the incessant control of illegal mining by a joint team in the waters of the British Gulf of Mentok. Even though we had previously controlled 13 units of pontoons, we had withdrawn them for confiscation and then processed according to applicable legal procedures," he said.

According to him, the alleged involvement of West Bangka Police Polairud personnel in illegal mining activities at the location was baseless and was fake news.

"It's heinous slander, baseless, and made to obscure the real facts. Instead, we are investigating the involvement of parties suspected of being directly involved in illegal mining, including unscrupulous journalists," he said.

Controlling seven pontoon units in Mentok Bay is conducive without problems. When officers arrived at the location, no mining activities were found, but seven units of pontoons were secured by officers were ready to operate.

The seven pontoon units parked in Mentok Bay were forced to be withdrawn to the West Bangka Police Polairud Post as a form of firm action because previously officers had given an appeal so that no more pontoons parked in the waters.

The control of illegal mining in Mentok Bay will continue to be carried out by a joint team from the West Bangka Police Satpolairud and the Indonesian Navy to ensure law enforcement efforts run according to existing regulations in order to preserve the environment and legal sovereignty within the jurisdiction of the West Bangka Police.
