Roy Suryo Examined By Polda Metro Regarding Allegations Of Jokowi's Fake Diplomas
JAKARTA Telematics expert Roy Suryo underwent an examination by Polda Metro Jaya investigators on Monday, July 7 regarding the alleged defamation case of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) through allegations of fake diplomas.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, confirmed the agenda for the examination of Roy Suryo. However, he has not detailed other witnesses who were also summoned in this case.
"It's true (Roy Suryo was questioned today)," said Ade Ary when confirmed, Monday. He added, "There are several witnesses."
Meanwhile, Roy Suryo also confirmed his summons. The former Minister of Youth and Sports stated that he was ready to provide information needed by investigators.
"It's true (checked)," said Roy briefly when contacted.
Roy was previously scheduled to be questioned on July 3, 2025. However, he was absent because he admitted that he had not received an official summons. "Well, there has been no invitation from the Polda Metro Jaya at all," said Roy at the time.
This case originated from an official report submitted by President Jokowi to the Polda Metro Jaya on charges of using fake diplomas. The report targets parties who are considered to spread false information and defame him.
This legal step refers to Articles 310 and 311 of the Criminal Code concerning defamation. In addition, investigators also apply Article 27A, Article 32, and Article 35 of the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE).

President Jokowi stated that this report was carried out so that the issues that had been developing so far could be resolved openly and fairly. "Yes, this is actually a minor matter, yes, it is a matter of accusation of fake diplomas. But it does need to be brought to the realm of law so that everything is clear and clear," said Jokowi some time ago.
Until now, investigators are still clarifying and collecting evidence to follow up on the report.
