Marcella Santoso And 4 Other Suspects Will Immediately Undergo Legal Opportunities Trial
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has officially transferred the case file for the alleged obstruction of investigations and prosecutions in three major cases to the Central Jakarta District Attorney.
One of the suspects in this case is Marcella Santoso, who will soon undergo a trial process.
Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the AGO, Harli Siregar, said the delegation was carried out on Monday today.
With this delegation, the Central Jakarta District Attorney will prepare an indictment before the case is registered with the Central Jakarta District Court and is scheduled for the first trial.
In this case, apart from Marcella Santoso, there are four other suspects, namely Aryanto; Junaedi Saabih, who are known to work as lecturers and advocates; Tian Bahtiar, Director of JAKTV News; and M Adhiya Muzakki, who is the head of the cyber team or Cyber Army.
The five suspects are strongly suspected of obstructing the legal process of three major cases being handled by the AGO. The three cases include allegations of corruption in the provision of crude palm oil (CPO) export facilities and their derivatives, cases of tin trading in the PT Timah Tbk Mining Business Permit (IUP) area, as well as corruption cases in sugar importation on behalf of Tom Lembong.
From the results of the investigation, the suspects Marcella Santoso and Junaedi Saabih who acted as advocates were suspected of collaborating with Tian Bahtiar and Adhiya Muzakki in creating and distributing negative content on social media and news media. The content is intended to form a negative opinion on investigators and the AGO leadership in the hope that it can affect the process of proving the case at trial.
The ultimate goal of the actions of the suspects, according to investigators, is that the three cases fail to be proven legally or even canceled in court. The AGO considered the action as a serious form of the obstruction of the law enforcement process.
