Study Find Drinking Sugarless Tea Lowers Risk Of Heart Failure To Stroke
JAKARTA - Drinking tea has long been part of the lifestyle of many people. But now, the latest study reveals that this simple habit can provide great benefits for heart health, with one important condition, namely without additional artificial sugar or sweeteners.
Research conducted by a team from Nantong University in China found that drinking up to two cups of tea without sweeteners every day could reduce the risk of heart failure by 21 percent, a 14 percent stroke, andile heart disease by 7 percent.
"Teh consumption without sweeteners seems to help sustain active compounds such as polyphenols that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects," the research team said in a report published in the International Journal of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Risk and Prevention, quoted from the Daily Mail page.
This study analyzed data from 177,810 adults in the UK with an average age of about 55 years. A total of 147,903 of them are tea warrants, and a majority of about 68 percent do not add sugar or sweeteners to tea.

During the study period an average of 12.7 years, more than 15 thousand cases of cardiovascular disease were recorded, including 2,679 cases of stroke and 2,908 cases of heart failure. The results of the analysis show that only sweetened tea provides a protective effect on these diseases.
On the other hand, no similar benefits were found in the consumption of tea with artificial sugar or sweeteners.
"The artificial sugar and sweetener have the potential to disrupt metabolic regulation and increase insulin resistance, which is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease," the researchers added.
This finding provides an important message, namely that healthy habits do not always have to be complicated. It is enough to choose tea without additional sugar every day, you have contributed to long-term heart health.
