JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded positive financial performance throughout 2024 which managed to grow 29 percent to Rp35.93 trillion.

The financial performance was conveyed at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) for the 2024 Fiscal Year at the Jakarta Railways Center Auditorium on Monday, June 30, 2025.

"KAI's financial performance in 2024 recorded positive results. The company's revenue grew by 29 percent to Rp35.93 trillion," said KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo in an official statement, Tuesday, July 1.

Didiek said the company also managed to record a net profit of IDR 2.21 trillion, while EBITDA jumped significantly by 50 percent to IDR 7.76 trillion.

This achievement was strengthened by an Unmodified Fair audit opinion for financial reports and the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. The company's governance score also increased to 93.59 with the title 'Very Good', showing KAI's consistency in upholding the principles of transparency and accountability.

In line with that, continued Didiek, KAI's operational performance continues to show a consistent and sustainable improvement trend. The rate of train accidents has been gradually reduced from 10 incidents in 2022 to 8 incidents in 2023, and 5 incidents in 2024.

This decline reflects the success of overall implementation of the safety culture, accompanied by increased operating standards across service lines. KAI will continue to strengthen its safety system as part of its commitment to deliver more reliable, secure, and competitive public transportation," he said.

At the same time, the time arrival of the train (on time arrival) continues to improve, from 91.5 percent in 2023 to 93.8 percent in 2024.

This indicator shows an improvement in the quality of service that is oriented towards customer satisfaction and the reliability of the national railway transportation system.

Didiek emphasized that the company also continues to strengthen business competitiveness and resilience through adaptive and measurable strategies.

"We continue to strengthen the role of national public transportation operators which are not only efficient and integrated, but also future-oriented. Today's GMS results further strengthen KAI's position in the national development agenda and contribute to inter-regional connectivity," said Didiek.
