Meaning Behind The Eyelight, Alex Teh Introduces Blink Towards First EP

JAKARTA - Alex Teh was enthusiastic in preparing his first EP. Including a series towards the launch of the mini album, he threw a new track titled blink as the third single of his EP.

Starting playing music at the age of 10 when he got his first guitar from his mother, Alex felt that writing a song was the most appropriate way to express his feelings. Single blink was created through this approach.

"Blink" is a song inspired by the story of Uncle Alex's struggle against illness for four years. During that period, Alex saw how his father as a brother was tough for his family while taking care of his younger brother who was in the coma stage.

The title of the blink' he chose was also inspired by how the communication between his family and uncle can only be established through a glimpse of his eyes.

"If he understands anything, we said he's going to blink twice, and if he wants something, he's going to blink once," recalls Alex Teh in a written broadcast, June 24.

The musician also admitted that the lyrics of this song were originally only written as poetry and not for a song. But in the end he decided to add a tone so that the line of poetry became a complete song.

"I made this song as a gift to my father, how he bears this pain and becomes a stronger person," explained Alex.

In working on the blink', Alex also involved several names such as Will Mara as producer and Kamga Mo as vocal director. This song also went through the post-production stage by Ivan Iponk in Roemahyponk.

For listeners who are feeling lost to their loved ones, Alex hopes that blink can be friends while facing these feelings. This young soloist also hopes that listeners can understand that the process of recovering from sadness begins with the inevitable support of those around them.

"The only way to deal with sadness is to live it and I hope this song is the right song for that," he concluded.
