Governor Koster Announces 2 People In Bali Exposed To A New Variant Of The COVID-19 Mutation From South Africa And The UK
DENPASAR - Bali Governor Wayan Koster conveyed the findings of a new variant of the COVID-19 mutation in Bali. Koster asked the Balinese people to stick to health protocols.
"Together, I need to convey very important information for the Balinese people to know regarding the development of COVID-19 in Bali", said Koster in Denpasar, Bali, Tuesday, May 4.
Koster received direct information from Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Monday, May 3. There are two people who have tested positive for COVID-19 from the new variant.
One person tested positive for transmission of a new variant from South Africa with code B.1.351. Meanwhile, one person is positive due to the transmission of a new variant from England with code B.1.1.7.

This was discovered after several samples from COVID-19 positive people at Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar, were tested by the Health Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Health.
"One person who tested positive for COVID-19 with a new variant from South Africa has been declared dead at Sanglah Hospital, comes from Badung Regency. The victim has not participated in the vaccination program", he said.
"Meanwhile, another person from Denpasar City who tested positive for COVID-19 with a new variant from England was declared cured, in good health, and has been discharged. The person concerned happened to have participated in the vaccination program twice", he said.
