National Police Chief Ziarah At Kalibata TMP Sambut Bhayangkara Anniversary

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the main officials of the National Police Headquarters made a pilgrimage and planted flowers at the Main Kalibata National Heroes Cemetery (TMP), South Jakarta, in order to welcome the 79th Anniversary of Bhayangkara.

"Our activities are routinely carried out every year before entering the 79th Bhayangkara Day," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Sandi Nugroho as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 23.

Sandi said this pilgrimage and flower sowing activity was carried out as a moment to remember the heroes who had died in carrying out their duties as citizens.

He hopes that the exemplary values of the heroes will motivate and encourage Polri members to be better in the future, especially in welcoming Bhayangkara Day 2025.

"Various role models from our predecessors should we set an example. That way, the Police are expected to be more prepared to face various challenges in the future," he said.

Pilgrimage at TMP Kalibata begins with a ceremony procession led by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Then followed by a moment of silence and laying wreaths and reading prayers and final respect.

After the ceremony was over, the National Police Chief and the PJU ranks of the National Police Headquarters moved to sow flowers at the graves of the heroes, one of which was at the grave of the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. BJ Habibie.

In addition, the National Police Chief also made a pilgrimage to the grave of the 5th National Police Chief General (Ret.) Hoegeng Iman Santoso at the Giritama Non-General Cemetery, Bogor, West Java.

On this occasion, the National Police Chief also stayed in touch with the wife of the late General (Ret.) Hoegeng, namely Mrs. Meriyati Roeslani or Mrs. Mery Hoegeng.
