President Prabowo Welcomed Putin At The Konstantine Novsky Palace
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto was greeted by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Konstantine Novsky Palace, St. Petersburg, Russia, which is Putin's hometown.
The official visit to the Konstantine Palace was President Prabowo's main agenda during his overseas visit to St. Petersburg on June 18, 2025.
President Putin and President Prabowo entered the meeting room at almost the same time. President Putin then invited President Prabowo to approach the center of the room.
President Putin extended his hand first, which was then greeted by President Prabowo. President Prabowo and President Putin then shook hands for a long time, and both of them showed a happy face.
The two of them exchanged greetings and had a short chat while holding hands.
President Putin continued to approach Foreign Minister Sugiono, who was also re-introduced by President Prabowo.
President Putin then opened the meeting by expressing his happiness over President Prabowo's arrival to President Putin's hometown in St. Petersburg.
"I am very happy to meet the President in Saint Petersburg. We have met in Moscow before the inauguration of the President last year. Today, we are holding a meeting to discuss bilateral issues," President Putin told President Prabowo as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 19.
President Prabowo, at the meeting, then thanked President Putin for the welcome at the Konstantine Palace.
"I would like to express my gratitude, my appreciation for this invitation, today, and the acceptance so well given to me and my delegation," President Prabowo told President Putin.

After giving the opening remarks to each other, the meeting between President Prabowo and President Putin was closed. Both are scheduled to continue to witness the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding (MoU) in cooperation, and submit joint statements (joint statements).
