Trump Mobile Launches T1 'Made In USA', Ready To Challenge IPhone 17 In September 2025
JAKARTA - The Trump Organization officially announced the launch of Trump Mobile, a new mobile operator service that is claimed to be a "all-American service" complete with a flagship smartphone called T1.
The launch coincided with the 10-year anniversary of Donald Trump's presidential campaign and marked Trump's new move in the telecommunications industry as well as direct competition against Apple and the iPhone 17 which is scheduled to arrive in September 2025.
Trump Mobile operates as Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), meaning the service uses network infrastructure from major US operators such as AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, without building its own physical network.
This service is marketed as a next-generation 'next-generation wireless service provider' that promises the 'best connectivity' and an unrivaled value' with a customer service approach that places consumers as a top priority.
The main package offered is called The 47 Plan, referring to Donald Trump's position as 47th US President. The package sells for 47.45 US dollars per month and offers unlimited services for voice calls, SMS, and data with the first high-speed 20GB quota. The package also offers free international calls to more than 100 countries, aimed at US military families who frequently communicate with their members overseas.
In addition, Trump Mobile includes additional services such as device protection (not insurance) run by third parties, road emergency assistance through Drive America, as well as telehealth services and drug prescription delivery. However, the details of additional costs for this service are not clearly disclosed, so users need to be careful with potential hidden costs.
Users can bring their own devices and use Trump Mobile SIM cards. However, support for eSIM is currently not available, which could be an obstacle for the latest iPhone users who already rely on eSIM without physical SIM slots.
In addition to the network, Trump Mobile will also sell their own smartphone called T1, which is claimed to be 'designed and made in the United States.' This claim is intended to challenge the famous Apple slogan Designed by Apple in California but produces its devices in China and India.
T1 comes with a gold premium design with American flag motifs and the words 'Make America Great Again.' The screen uses a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with a punch-hole for the front camera. Security features include an under-screen fingerprint sensor and AI Face Unlock.
T1 technical specifications include:
The latest Android 15 operating system with Trump Mobile interface
12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage that can be expanded through microSD slots
50MP main camera, macro camera and 2MP depth each
16MP front camera for selfie
5,000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging via USB-C port
Port headphones 3.5mm and USB-C with USB 2.0 speed
Although claimed to be 'Made in USA,' many of the main components such as AMOLED screens, cameras, and possibly chipsets, still have to be imported as there is no mass production of these components in the United States. This raises doubts over America's 'made' claims completely.
The overall production of smartphones in the United States is a big challenge, especially in terms of supply chains and costs. Components like chipsets are generally made by companies like Qualcomm, which are headquartered in the US, but production is made at foreign factories such as TSMC in Taiwan.

The TSMC plant in the US does exist, but its capacity is still limited and insufficient to produce all the chips needed. In addition, there are no AMOLED manufacturers or camera modules in the US capable of supplying mass needs. Therefore, most likely T1 is only assembled in the US using imported components.
With a selling price of around $499 and a down payment of 100 US dollars for pre-order, T1 is positioned as a mid-range smartphone that is attractive to Trump fans and supporters. However, with these specifications, this device must compete with many other Android phones that are already established in the market.
Trump Mobile and T1 smartphone appear to be strong political branding steps to attract the attention of Donald Trump fans and supporters, using the spirit of 'Made in America' and patriotism. However, in terms of technology and business, this product faces major challenges in facing established competitors such as Apple and major cellular operators in the US.
The launch of the T1 scheduled for August 2025 is expected to attract attention ahead of the launch of the iPhone 17 in the following month. Whether Trump Mobile and T1 will be able to penetrate the market and steal consumer attention, or only become a niche product with high symbolic value, it remains to be seen in the coming months.
