Nvidia Builds Germany's First Industry AI Cloud
JAKARTA Nvidia, a leading semiconductor company from the United States, announced it will build its first artificial intelligence (AI) cloud platform for industrial applications in Germany. This announcement was made directly by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, at a VivaTech technology conference held in Paris, France, this week.
The AI platform is designed to combine AI technology with robotics, and will be used by major automotive manufacturers such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz. This technology will support various industrial processes, ranging from product design simulations to automatic and efficient logistics management.
Nvidia's big move is part of the company's long-term vision to expand its presence in Europe. Huang revealed that in the next two years, Nvidia will increase AI's computing capacity on the continent by ten times.
He also added that Europe is now starting to realize the importance of AI infrastructure and the existence of what it calls a large-scale AI plant that is designed to develop, train, and implement AI models.
On the same occasion, Nvidia also announced plans to expand their technology centers in seven European countries and open up access to Nvidia's computing market for local companies.
In addition, they will support the development of a multilanguage AI model and participate in AI-based drug discovery projects with pharmaceutical companies such as Novo Nordisk.
Nvidia also announced a strategic partnership with Mistral, an AI company from Europe, to build a new AI computing platform that will be run using the latest 18,000 Nvidia chips.

This partnership is meant to strengthen technology independence in Europe. Huang stressed the importance of mastering AI technology by each country, calling the sovereign AI a must of no company, industry, or country may leave its intelligence to outsiders.
In addition to discussing AI development, Huang also highlighted the advancement of quantum computing technology. He stated that the technology is now at an important turning point and has the potential to solve problems that are currently taking even years to be processed by Nvidia's most advanced AI system. He estimates that quantum computing will begin providing real solutions in the near future.
Nvidia's presence in Europe, particularly through the construction of Germany's first industrial AI cloud, is a strong signal that the company wants to play a major role in digital transformation and the high-tech industry in the region.
