The panel of judges stated that the actions of the two defendants were proven to have violated Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"The actions of the two defendants were proven to have committed an evil conspiracy to sell, buy, and become an intermediary for the sale and purchase of narcotics class one in the form of non-plants weighing more than 5 grams," said Judge Cipto.

"The two defendants and the public prosecutor were given 7 days to state their position whether to appeal or accept this verdict," said judge Cipto.

The verdict was in accordance with the demands of the Prosecutor's Office, Belawan Isti Risa Sunia Yuzir Isti, because previously she charged the two defendants with the death penalty.

"Ask the panel of judges to sentence the two defendants to the death penalty," said Public Prosecutor of the Belawan District Attorney's Office, Isti Risa Sunia Yuzir, at the Medan District Court Belawan Court, Thursday (8/5).

JPU Kejari Belawan Isti Risa Sunia Yuzir in his indictment said the case began on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

At that time, the defendant Fauzi received a call from Syawaluddin (DPO), and offered a job to carry narcotics.

"Syawaludin said that later the defendant would be contacted by the defendant Kiki to provide drugs that would be delivered to a predetermined location," he said.

At around 22.00 WIB, the prosecutor continued, the defendant Kiki contacted the defendant Fauzi and told him that he had arrived at the location with one burlap and four bags containing methamphetamine and ecstasy pills.

The two then met around the Polonia Medan CBD area. When they were about to determine the place for the handover of the two types of narcotics, the movement of the two defendants was monitored by the North Sumatra Police's Narcotics Directorate team, and managed to arrest the defendant Fauzi.

Meanwhile, the defendant Kiki managed to escape by driving a car. However, the officers finally stopped the defendant Kiki's vehicle on Jalan Ir. H. Juanda Medan.

From the results of the search of the white Honda Brio driven by the defendant Kiki, officers found 29 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 39,000 ecstasy pills weighing 15,358 grams.

"Furthermore, the two defendants and the evidence were brought to the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate for further investigation," said Public Prosecutor Isti.
