Former Director Of LPP TVRI Becomes Suspect Of Studio Cooruption

The Riau Islands High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Kepri) has named the former General Director of the TVRI Public Broadcasting Institute (LPP) for the period 2020 to 2023 with the initials MTR as a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the implementation of the work on the construction of the 2022 Riau Islands LPP TVRI Studio.

"Adapun satu orang yang ditetapkan sebagai tersangka dan dilakukan penahan tersebut adalah MTR, selaku Direktur Utama LPP TVRI tahun 2020 sampai dengan Juni 2023," kata Kajati Kepri Teguh Subroto dilansir ANTARA, Selasa, 10 Juni.

MTR became the fourth suspect to be named, after on December 10, 2024, the Riau Islands Attorney General's Office named three suspects, namely the Director of PT Timba Ria Jaya with the initials HT, and AT as the private party who participated in the construction work activities of the LPP TVRI Kepri Studio in 2022.

AT uses the flag of PT Daffa Cakra Mulia, as a planning consultant and PT Bahana Nusantara as a supervisory consultant.

The next suspect, DO as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) at the construction work of the Indonesian Riau Islands LPP Studio in 2022.

The MTR suspect is suspected along with other suspects, abused his authority which resulted in state financial losses reaching Rp9.08 billion, based on the results of the investigation by the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

Teguh said the suspect was detained for the next 20 days starting from June 10 to June 29, 2025 at the Tanjungpinang Class 1 Detention Center.

"The suspect was detained on the grounds that he was worried that he would run away, destroy or destroy evidence or repeat a criminal act," he said.

This case stems from a studio construction project sourced from the 2022 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) with a budget ceiling value of IDR 10 billion.

The project was carried out with an initial contract value of Rp9.66 billion which then changed the contract value to almost Rp10 billion due to changes in work (Contract Change Order / CCO).

The scope of work includes the construction of the 1st floor, 2nd floor, framework and roof cover, as well as landscape work.

However, in the process of implementing the project, various irregularities were found. The work, which was reportedly completed 100 percent, did not match the specifications in the contract and had been engineered for the full disbursement of the budget.

Investigators have confiscated and deposited state compensation money amounting to SGD 45,000 (around Rp527 million) which was deposited by the suspect HT (Director of PT Tamba Ria Jaya) to the RPL Account of the Riau Islands High Prosecutor's Office.

After the case files of the three suspects were previously declared complete (P-21), this case was transferred to the Corruption Court at the Tanjungpinang District Court and is currently in the trial process.
