The World's Highest Train Bridge Is In The Conflict Area And Beats Eiffel Tower

JAKARTA - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world's highest rail bridge, an ambitious engineering project that crossed the mountains in koloss, on Friday just weeks after a deadly attack on tourists in the Himalayan region, sparked a brief conflict with neighboring Pakistan.

Built for decades, the curved Chenab Bridge was 359 meters (about 1,180 feet) above the river of the same name. The bridge was 29 meters (more than 95 feet) higher than the summit of the Eiffel Tower.

At a cost of more than 160 million US dollars with a length of 1,315 meters (4,314 feet), the bridge is part of the first railway line to connect media and India, quoted by CNN June 6.

In addition to the Chenab Bridge, PM Modi also inaugurated the Udhadempur-Srinagar-Baramula Railway project, which connects major cities in India's UNDER management with India.

PM Modi's visit to India's managedtenness was the first since the brief but deadly conflict between India and Pakistan in April.

The two neighboring nuclear-armed countries attacked each other with missiles, drone, and artillery fire for four days after New Delhi blamed the massacre at its neighborai, a charge Pakistan denies.

The Hindu Modi nationalist government has moved to integrate Muslim-majority territory with all countries, including revoking constitutional provisions that allow it to establish its own law in 2019.

The Himalayan medium is claimed by India, Pakistan, and China. The three of them manage part of the region, one of the world's most militarized zones.

For PM Modi, who won power more than a decade ago by carrying out nationalism and promises of future glory, investment in infrastructure such as the Chenab Bridge and a wider rail network project can be seen as a powerful tool for social integration and political influence.

Since its first election in 2014, the prime minister has quickly expanded the connectivity of roads and rails in the region, building a network that connects different cities with major cities.

The Chenab Bridge was praised as a big victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party government that carried PM Modi.

His administration has poured billions of dollars into improving India's old and outdated transportation network, as part of its vision to turn the country into a developed country by 2047.

Among these ambitious projects is the construction of several tunnels and highways in the Himalayan mountain region that have been criticized by some environmental observers who say the heavy construction could undermine the fragile topography already feeling the impact of the climate crisis.

In 2019, New Delhi lifted constitutional provisions that provide autonomy to India's managed mitigation to establish its own laws.

The southern and eastern parts of the region previously known as the states of Jammu and filmy in India are two separate areas of unity, so that both are under New Delhi's direct control, a move PM Modi claims will improve stability, reduce corruption, and improve the economy.
