Kim Jong-un Oaths North Korea Supports Russia Without Conditions
JAKARTA - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un affirmed his country's support for Russia when it received top Moscow officials.
State media KCNA reported on Thursday that leader Kim met with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu on Wednesday.
In the meeting with the former defense minister, Leader Kim promised unconditional support for Russia's position in Ukraine and other international issues.
"Kim Jong-un stressed that the future Government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will also unconditionally support Russia's position and its foreign policies," the report said, using North Korea's official name.
North Korea will responsibly comply with the articles of agreement between the two countries, Leader Kim said, as quoted.
In the report, Leaders Kim and Shoigu also discussed strengthening comprehensive strategic partnerships and mutual cooperation in various fields.
It is known that Russia and North Korea signed a strategic partnership agreement when President Vladimir Putin and the delegation held a summit with Leader Kim during a visit to Pyongyang on June 19, 2024.
