The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Calls The Suspension Of Detention Proposed By Paulus Tannos Has Not Been Approved
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto confirmed his fugitive in the corruption case in the procurement of an Electronic KTP (e-KTP), Paulus Tannos, submitted a suspension of detention to the Singaporean authorities. The information has been received by his institution and is said to have not been approved.
Paulus Tannos is being held in Singapore after being arrested by local authorities. He will actually be repatriated through the extradition treaty mechanism.
"It is informed that the application for the suspension of Tannos has not been approved," Setyo told reporters when confirmed, Monday, June 2.
Setyo ensured that the legal process against the fugitive was continuously monitored. Moreover, the trial process related to extradition is still ongoing.
The KPK and the Ministry of Law are still monitoring the process in Singapore. To this day, communication between governments is still intense," said the former Director of KPK Investigation.
As previously reported, the Ministry of Law (Kemenhum) revealed that the fugitive from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the corruption case of procuring an Electronic KTP (e-KTP), Paulus Tannos, did not want to be sent back to Indonesia from Singapore. He fought the extradition process by submitting a request for a suspension of detention to local authorities.
"The current position of PT is not willing to be submitted voluntarily. Currently, PT is submitting a request for a suspension of detention to the Singapore court," said the Director General of General Legal Administration (AHU) of the Ministry of Law Widodo to reporters when contacted, Monday, June 2.

Widodo said Paulus Tannos was still detained after being arrested by local authorities. The Attorney General's Office (AGC) of Singapore as the representative of the Indonesian government also continues to fight the request for a suspension of detention.
In addition, Paulus Tannos will also undergo a preliminary hearing on 23'25 June. "The legal process in Singapore is still ongoing," he said.
As for Paulus Tannos, President Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, was finally arrested by Singaporean authorities after being on the wanted list since 2021. He was named a suspect in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in 2019.
At that time he was named a suspect by the KPK along with three other people, namely Isnu Edhi Wijaya as the former President Director of the Indonesian National Printing Corporation (PNRI); 2014-2019 DPR RI member Miryam S Haryani; and former Head of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of e-KTP Husni Fahmi.
