Passengers Desperately Twisted The Head Of The Ojek Driver In Duren Sawit, Victim: "Fortunately Not Broken"

JAKARTA A motorcycle taxi driver at the base became a victim of an attempted robbery by his own passengers on Jalan Pondok Kopi, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Monday (2/6). The perpetrator, with the initials A, had committed physical violence against the victim by trying to twist his neck while the motorbike was still driving.

The perpetrator wearing Onitsuka shoes was successfully secured by residents after his actions were thwarted by the victim and shouted for help attracted the attention of the surrounding community.

The victim, known as Opik, explained that the incident began when he was waiting for passengers in front of Kranji Station, Bekasi. The perpetrator approached and pretended to be a passenger who was about to go to Pondok Kopi, East Jakarta.

"He said, 'Bang, a motorcycle taxi to Pondok Kopi'. I answered, '40 thousand', and he agreed. But when I got near the red light of Pondok Kopi, my head was suddenly flanked. Luckily it didn't break," said Opik to reporters.

After realizing that he was a victim of an attempted crime, Opik immediately shouted for help. The perpetrator tried to run away and tried to take away the victim's motorbike. However, his attempt failed because the motorcycle ignition key had been removed first by the victim.

The victim's screams attracted the attention of residents and pass road users. Angry residents then arrested the perpetrator and had time to judge him before the police came to the location.

One of the witnesses, Didi, who was passing by by by car, confirmed that he saw firsthand when the perpetrator was committing violence against the victim on a motorbike that was still driving.

"I was driving from the opposite direction. At that time I saw the head of the motorcycle taxi driver twisted from behind by his own passengers," said Didi.

The mass action was successfully suppressed by members of the Bhabinkamtibmas Polsek Duren Sawit who immediately arrived at the location. The officers then secured the perpetrator and took him to the Pondok Kopi Police Post for further investigation.

From the results of the search, the police found a cell phone and screwdriver in the perpetrator's bag. Currently, the perpetrator has been handed over to the Bekasi City Metro Police for further legal proceedings.
