President Jokowi, Anies Baswedan And Minister Of Health Budi Are Going To Thamrin City To Review Vaccination For Business Actors

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reviewed the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination for trading businesses in Thamrin City and Grand Indonesia, Jakarta, Monday, May 3.

"This morning I saw, reviewed the vaccination program carried out in Thamrin City and Grand Indonesia, so that all shop assistants and those who operate in shopping areas, malls, can all be vaccinated", said the President at Grand Indonesia.

The President conducted the review accompanied by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Rosan P Roeslani, and other related officials.

"We hope that (vaccination) can slow down, reduce and eliminate the spread of COVID-19", said the President.

President Jokowi again reminded the public to be disciplined in implementing health protocols everywhere.

"I also want to continue to remind all of us if we want to go anywhere, always, wear masks, wear masks, wear masks," he said.

The President on Sunday, May 2 also reminded the whole community to remain vigilant about the transmission of COVID-19 even though the disease transmission curve has slid since the implementation of micro-scale community activity restrictions (PPKM) and the implementation of the mass vaccination program.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia decreased to 100.760 and the cure rate for COVID-19 patients increased along with a decrease in daily cases.

The Head of State reminded that this positive development should not cause neglect.

"Don't be reckless. We are not safe yet! Efforts to suppress this active case must be continued and very much depends on our discipline, all of us, in carrying out health protocols", he said.

The President also asked regional heads to continue to remind residents to be disciplined in carrying out health protocols and synergize with the central government to impose a ban on Eid Al-Fitr homecoming for their citizens this year.

Based on data from the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 as of 2 May 2021, the accumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia is a total of 1.677.274 cases with 1.530.718 patients who have died and 45.796 patients who have died.

Meanwhile, the injection of the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has been carried out on 12.457.164 people and the number of residents who have completed vaccination has received vaccine injections twice, as many as 7.678.485 million people.

The government plans to vaccinate 181.5 million citizens to achieve group immunity against COVID-19.
