Indonesia-France Culture Cooperation At Borobudur Temple
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto together with French President Emmanuel Macron declared and signed strategic cooperation in the field of culture between the two countries held at Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java, Thursday, May 29.
The signing of the strategic cooperation was carried out when the two heads of state, along with French First Lady Brigitte Macron, and delegates visited the historic site of Borobudur Temple, from the courtyard to the summit area.
"This morning our cultural ministers and also several actors in the cultural field were here. And I thank you for signing a number of approvals and agreements," President Macron said in his remarks in the courtyard of Borobudur Temple.
President Macron explained that this cultural partnership will rely on the two main pillars.
The first pillar is cooperation in the field of world heritage preservation and museum management.
He stated that Indonesia has a very large world heritage wealth and France is ready to share its expertise in this field. The collaboration was carried out between the Indonesian Heritage Agency and the Centro de Monuments Nationaux.
"I am happy that there will be a number of people from Indonesia coming to France so that we can learn from each other," Macron said.

An in-depth study of priority heritage sites will be conducted with assistance from various educational and research institutions in France.
In addition, partnerships between EVO and the Grand Palais Museum Guimet have also been launched to prepare various exhibitions involving contemporary artists from the two countries involving schools, research centers, and other institutions in France to take part in this initiative.
Furthermore, President Macron conveyed the second pillar, namely strengthening the cultural industry and the creative economy where this industry is at the heart of people's lives. This partnership aims to empower the creative and innovative young generation of Indonesia and France.
Some of the cooperation programs presented by President Macron include film collaboration between the French National Cinema Center (Centre national du cinrema/CNC) and the La Femis film school.
This partnership includes training, dissemination of works, and co-production of joint films, as well as building funding models so that the film industry does not rely on large funding models such as those already running in France.
In the fashion sector, President Macron appreciated the partnership with the gateway incubator and the involvement of Indonesian designers in Paris Fashion Week. According to President Macron, this partnership in the cultural sector will also be expanded to other sectors such as games, designs, gastronomi, and sustainable urban planning.
"I want to greet all the actors from the creative Indonesian industry who are present, whose talents are also known in France, both in Cannes, either through gastronomi or famous fashion designers. I also want to convey about methods with balanced partnerships that are mutually beneficial," he said.
