Starship Accident On 8th Trial, SpaceX Calls Engine Failure
JAKARTA SpaceX finally released the results of an investigation into the Starship accident on March 6. In its report, the company owned by Elon Musk blamed the machine for failing.
In the eighth Starship trial, the rapper's engine at the top stage of the vehicle died. This caused the top stage to re-enter Earth, but broke over the Caribbean. The time of the accident was almost the same in the failure of the seventh Starship trial.
Although the case looks similar, namely a dead rapper's machine, SpaceX stated that the cause of these two accidents was different. In the last trial, the rapper's engine died due to accidental mixing and propellant lighting.
"Although the failure was realized at the same point in flight time such as the seventh Starship test flight, it should be noted that the failure was clearly different," SpaceX said, quoted on Monday, May 26.

SpaceX also explained that the problem caused two rapper machines to shut down, along with one of the external engines optimized for vacuum with large nozzles. As a result, Starship lost control before landing safely.
As a form of mitigation, SpaceX has implemented changes to rappers at the top stage of Starship. They added additional initial expenses to the main connection and nitrogen cleaning system. They also repair the propellant disposal system.
The mitigation was carried out after the seventh Starship flight test to address the harmonic response and the flammable burning of the ship's attic was as designed before the failure on Flight 8, "said SpaceX.
