Jokowi Officially Applies Castration Sentence To Pedophiles In Today's Memory, May 25, 2016

JAKARTA Memories of today, nine years ago, May 25, 2016, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially applied chemical castration to perpetrators of sexual crimes against children. This rule is enforced because pedophiles often disturb the public.

Previously, sexual crimes against children were at an alarming stage. The number of cases continues to increase. The government was also asked to take a role immediately. They were asked to issue severe punishment rules to pedophiles.

Parents do have a big responsibility in taking care of their children. However, the role of parents to take care of their children is limited due to other busyness. This condition is used by pedophiles in carrying out sexual crimes against children.

Problems arise. Sexual crimes against children are one of the scary. In Indonesia, especially. Indonesia should be in the emergency stage of violence in children. The reporting rate in the period of five years from 2010-2014 is increasing.

The National Commission for Child Protection of Indonesia (KPAI) confirmed that more than 21.6 million cases of sexual violence occurred in Indonesia. The data is taken from 33 child protection agencies in each province. The pedophiles are considered to be able to be anywhere.

One time they operated their malicious intentions in public spaces. At one time there were also pedophiles who carried out their evil intentions in the home environment. The government was also asked to immediately take firm action against perpetrators of sexual crimes.

Regulations that should be mitigating are immediately removed. This condition is because victims of sexual crimes can have life trauma. This means that for life they are trapped with past trauma.

They feel low. They feel weak. The government must really be able to severely punish the perpetrators of sexual crimes.

"Indonesia has the emergency status of sexual crimes, I always say that. It cannot be covered up and is very scary".

"That's why this is a lesson. Now parents who never take their children to school are afraid and start delivering their own children. What dominates children's crimes is sexual violence. So it must be considered an extraordinary crime," said KPAI chairman Arist Merdeka Sirait as quoted on the coverage page 6.com, October 22, 2015.

The government does not remain silent. All kinds of input were immediately accepted. They consider that public input can break the chain of sexual violence against children. This condition also reached the vicinity of President Jokowi.

At its peak, President Jokowi has officially signed Government Regulation on Substitution of Law (Perppu) Number 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection on May 25, 2016. This rule is considered a new breath against pedophiles.

The narrative is because one of the mandates of legal products is the imposition of chemical castration. The punishment is considered to have a deterrent effect on the perpetrators. Jokowi's decision was also greeted with great fanfare. People call it a step forward against pedophiles.
