Charlie Chandra Is Forced To Force Banten Police Members
JAKARTA - The Banten Police finally arrested Charlie Chandra (48), a suspect in the alleged forgery of land certificates in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 area, Tangerang Regency. The arrests were made on Monday night, May 19, 2025, at his residence in the Pademangan area, North Jakarta.
The arrests were made by investigators from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Banten Police after persuasive efforts for more than two days were fruitless.
"We finally made a forced arrest of the suspect at his house. The person concerned was not cooperative and had tried to trick investigators," said Head of the Harda Bangtah Sub-Directorate of the Banten Police Ditreskrimum, AKBP Mirodin, Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
According to Mirodin, Charlie had asked investigators to send an invitation letter to summon him as a suspect, and stated that he would come voluntarily to the Banten Police on Monday morning. However, when the promised time arrived, it was not Charlie who appeared, but his siblings who had a similar face.

"That morning, his attorney even posted that they were escorting Charlie to come to the Regional Police. In fact, only his brother came for content. He didn't meet the investigators at all," said Mirodin.
After the action was revealed as an attempt to avoid the law, officers moved again quickly and forcibly arrested Charlie at PIK 2.
The arrests were made according to procedures, considering that this case had been declared complete (P21) by the Banten High Prosecutor's Office and investigators were asked to immediately hand over the suspect along with evidence.
"There is no other purpose. We are just carrying out our duties. Because the legal process has entered phase two, we have to hand it over to the prosecutor's office," explained Mirodin.
To note, Charlie Chandra previously caught the public's attention after prostrate in front of the media asking for the protection of President Prabowo Subianto. He admitted that he was criminalized for defending a family land covering an area of 8.7 hectares, which has now become an elite area of PIK 2.
In the initial stage, the investigation of Charlie was stopped through the issuance of an Investigation Termination Order (SP3) by the Banten Police. However, the decision was overturned by the pretrial decision of the Serang District Court, so this case was resumed to the prosecution stage.
