Changes In Shopping Trends In The Community, Habits Of Hanging Out To Health Become An Option
JAKARTA - In the midst of economic conditions that tend to slow down, people's consumption patterns are starting to shift. It's no longer a matter of massive shopping or buying luxury goods, now the trend of spending is more aimed at finding experience and balance of life.
The culture of 'swelling' in cafes to shopping for products that support a healthy lifestyle such as organic foods, sports equipment, to skincare, is increasingly popular.
This phenomenon reflects changes in consumer priorities that are more selective in spending their money, especially in shopping centers.
This was also realized by the Senior Promotion Manager of Kasablanka City, Agung Gunawan. He said that recently, people's shopping trends until people's destinations to come to shopping centers have experienced slight changes in today's time, which is often called "difficult economy".
Agung said, especially at the Kasablanka City mall, the number of visitors to the mall is still high, but there is a pattern of consumption that they are starting to change.
"Alhamdulillah, traffic (visitors) remain stable. There is no significant decline, but we see a shift in behavior, especially in terms of shopping," said Agung Gunawan, Senior Promotion Manager of Kota Kasablanka after the interview 'Shop Til You Win' in Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta, recently.
According to him, the public is no longer focused on purchasing high-value goods such as gadgets, but prefers activities that provide direct experience.
"Many prefer to spend time in cafes, invite children to play in the playground, or participate in community activities. Culinary and entertainment areas are now the center of the crowd," he explained.
Consumers are also starting to be interested in things that are collective, art, sports, and a healthy lifestyle. This shows that the current shopping decision is no longer just a matter of material consumption, but also a search for emotional values and social experiences.

In responding to this trend, various shopping centers began to align their programs and activities with new visitors' interests. One of them is Kota Kasablanka, which is holding an annual program to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of the Pakuwon Group.
The program, titled 'Shop Til You Win', lasts until September 14, 2025 and offers opportunities for visitors to win various prizes, including apartment units and electric vehicles.
However, different from just promotional gimmicks, this program also wants to bring emotional engagement and family excitement in the shopping process.
With a transaction value-based lottery system, visitors can simply shop for at least IDR 500,000 to participate in the draw for certain monthly prizes and prizes, while spending IDR 2,000,000 provides access to grand prizes such as apartments or BYD electric cars.
The lottery coupon can be obtained through the PG Card application and exchanged at a special counter to be included in the lottery box.
"The announcement of the winner will be made on September 19, 2025, and the prize tax will be borne by the organizers, so that the winner will not be burdened with additional costs such as taxes or costs on the road of the vehicle," said Agung.
Outside the main draw, the program is also equipped with monthly gifts such as holidays to Singapore, gold jewelry, the latest devices, to household electronic devices. All drawes are conducted openly at Grand Atrium, Kota Kasablanka, with the nearest schedule on July 12, 2025.
"We want visitors to feel that shopping can be a fun and full of surprises. Not only bringing home goods, but also bringing home the story," concluded Agung Gunawan.
