Involved In The Bribery Case Of The Corruption Eradication Commission Investigator, Azis Syamsuddin Has Assets Of IDR 96.5 Billion
JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Azis Syamsuddin, is suspected of being involved in the alleged bribery for terminating the case of the Mayor of Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra. Azis is said to have introduced KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju to the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial.
In this case, the Golkar Party politician had also been prevented from leaving the country for six months starting April 27.
So how much wealth is Azis Syamsuddin today?
Based on the periodic State Officials Wealth Report (LHKPN) which he reported on April 1, 2020, the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has assets of IDR 96.6 billion, or to be precise IDR 96.630.140.585.
However, because he was recorded as having a debt of IDR 66.477.511, his assets decreased to IDR 96.563.663.074.
In the report, Azis was recorded as owning seven plots of land and buildings in South Jakarta and Bandar Lampung with a value of IDR 89.492.201.000.
In addition, he is also noted to own a number of motorized vehicles such as a 2003 Harley Davidson with a value of IDR 170 million; Honda Beat motorbike in 2018 worth IDR 14 million; Toyota Land Cruiser cars in 2008 and 2016 IDR 2,290 billion; 2016 Toyota Kijang Innova worth IDR 248 million; and a Toyota Alphard 2018 car worth IDR 780 million.
Subsequently, in the report, he was also recorded as having other movable assets, namely IDR 274.750.000 and cash equivalents of IDR 3.361.189.585.

As previously reported, the KPK appointed its investigator, Stepanus Robin Pattuju, a lawyer named Maskur Husain and the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M. Syahrial as suspects in the alleged bribery case in the handling of the case of sale and purchase of positions at the Tanjungbalai City Government.
Stepanus Robin Pattuju and Maskur Husain are suspected of having received a bribe from M. Syahrial amounting to IDR 1.3 billion from the IDR 1.5 billion deal. The bribe was given so that Stepanus would help stop the investigation into the alleged sale and purchase of positions in Tanjungbalai that the KPK is currently investigating.
Apart from the bribe from Syahrial, Maskur Husain is also suspected of receiving IDR 200 million from another party. Meanwhile, Stepanus from October 2020 to April 2021 is also suspected of receiving money from other parties through bank transfer in the name of Riefka Amalia, amounting to IDR 438 million.
The initial collusion in this case began when Deputy Speaker of the DPR Azis Syamsuddin introduced Stepanus and M Syahrial at his official residence. This Golkar Party politician is thought to know Stepanus from his aide who is both from the Bhayangkara Corps.
