Allegations Of Corruption In The Procurement Of Private Jets For KPU During The 2024 Election Were Reported To The KPK
JAKARTA - Transparency International Indonesia (TI Indonesia), Themis Indonesia, and Trend Asia reported allegations of corruption related to the procurement of private jets by the General Election Commission (KPU) for the 2024 Fiscal Year to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
This civil society coalition reported directly to the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta today, Wednesday, May 7. They just have to wait for the follow-up to the complaint submitted.
"The Anti-Corruption Civil Anti-Corruption Society Coalition reported allegations of misuse of the KPU private jet which was carried out in 2024 yesterday. Our report has been received and is just waiting for follow-up from (parts, red) of the KPK complaint," Agus Sarwono, who is an Indonesian IT researcher, told reporters at the location.
Agus said there were three things that became the basis for the preparation of the report submitted. Among them are related to the aspect of procurement of goods or services or procurement which is considered problematic because it is carried out behind closed doors.
In addition, the company chosen by the KPU as the provider and won the tender is a small-scale company.
"From the two contract documents found on the LPSE website, there are also indications of mark-ups because the contract value exceeds the number of ceilings that have been determined," he said.

Second, the use of private jets is allegedly not in accordance with its designation. "From a time perspective, the private jet rental period is not in accordance with the stages of the distribution of election logistics," said Agus.
"The use of private jets is used after the logistics distribution stage is completed," he continued.
Not only that, the private jet or private jet route used also raises suspicion. Because, flights are not headed to areas that are difficult to reach or outermost friends.
"So there are indications that the private jet is not used for election purposes, it was found that as many as 60 percent of the routes taken were not to the outermost areas and the area was left behind from the total use of private jets to 40 destinations. So, the trip to the outermost area was only 35 percent and the area was 5 percent behind," explained Agus.
Private jets are also thought to be owned by foreigners. Because of the three aircraft numbers, one of them is registered with a foreign number.
"And indeed the KPU has not explained anything, what is the name of the plane used," he concluded.
