The First Smoke Signal For The Election Of The Whale Will Appear Wednesday Night
JAKARTA - The first signal of smoke showing the results of the conclative vote of papal will come out of the sink of the Sistina Chapel on Wednesday, not earlier than 19.00 p.m. Vatican time, said Matteo Bruni, Director of the Holy See Press Office.
He said the electoral cardinals would enter the chapel at around 16.30 p.m. (21.30 p.m. local time), then proceed with katese by Cardinal Raniero Cantalamessa and take oaths by cardinals to maintain election confidentiality and integrity.
Reported by ANSA, Wednesday, May 7, the next vote to find a replacement for Pope Francis, who died on April 21, will begin.
Bruno explained that voting can be done up to four times a day, while signals of smoke will only come out twice a day until the new Pope is elected.
Therefore, on Thursday (8/5) or the second day of conclave, the first signal of smoke could appear around noon.
However, if the new Pope had been elected in the first vote that day, then white smoke would billow from the Sistina Chapel around 10.30 a.m. (15.30 p.m. local time).

The next signal of smoke will not appear until around 19.00 p.m. local time, unless the voting in the afternoon has determined a new Pope elected with a white smoke signal out around 17.30 p.m. (22.30 p.m. local time).
The smoke signal comes from ballots resulting from the selection of cardinals who were burned at the stove at the Sistina Chapel.
When burned, the ballot will be mixed with chemicals that produce black or white smoke.
The black smoke signal indicates no Pope has been elected, while white smoke shows the new Pope of the Catholic Church has been elected.
