Four Beaters Of National Soldiers In Rejang Lebong Bengkulu Sentenced To 9-15 Years In Prison
BENGKULU - The Panel of Judges at the Curup District Court (PN), Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu sentenced four defendants to beating members of the TNI. They were proven to gang up on TNI members to death and one other was seriously injured.
The defendants were Boby Wijaya, Randy Syaputra, Redho Supianto, and Muhammad Rahman Remura alias Roy.
Public Relations of Curup District Court (PN), Yongky, said after the trial that the four defendants were tried in two different files.
The defendants Boby Wijaya, Randy Syaputra, and Redho Supianto together were sentenced to 15 years in prison because they were found guilty of violating Article 338 of the Criminal Code.

Then another defendant on behalf of Muhammad Rahman Remura alias Roy was sentenced to nine years in prison, because he was found guilty of violating Article 170 of the Criminal Code.
"So there is a right for them to accept, reject or think about what is stipulated in the Criminal Procedure Code. So if they think about it, they are given seven days, meaning that everyone including the public prosecutor also has the same opportunity. I thought whether it was fair or it was unfair," said Yongky as quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 29.
The case of the beating of TNI members from Yonif 144/JY Curup took place on Thursday, December 31, 2020, by a group of youths at the Great Hall of the Setia Negara Curup Field. As a result of the beatings, the First Soldier Yopan Setiandi died and the First Soldier Agus Salim Harahap was seriously injured.
