Cause Heart Problems To Stroke, 4 Food Products Withdrawn By Singapore
JAKARTA - The Singapore Food Agency or the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) on April 30 issued a warning to the public not to consume four food products that are claimed to increase male sexual performance or offer effective solutions to lose weight.
The four products are Loboose High End Super Candy from Germany, Premium Thundercat Super Candy from Russia, Lomie Peach Berries STOm Fruity Tea from France, and Urbanism Candy from Malaysia.
Loboose High End Super Candy and Premium Thundercat Super Candy, which are claimed to be able to improve men's sexual performance, turned out to contain tadalaphi, which is a prescription drug commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction. According to SFA, the drug should only be used under medical supervision.
The improper use of tadalafil can be dangerous and increase the risk of serious effects such as heart attacks, strokes, headaches, migraines, irregular heartbeats, and priapism. SFA calls priapism a painful erectile condition.
"Tadalafil can also pose a serious risk to certain individuals, especially those with heart problems," SFA said, quoted from the page The Straits Times.
"This drug can cause blood pressure to drop drastically which has the potential to be life-threatening, especially in those who take heart drugs that contain nitrate," he added.

Meanwhile, Lomie Peach Berries Blossom Fruity Tea and Urbanism Candy, which are marketed asAGE products that help suppress appetite, detoxification, and accelerate metabolism, are known to contain sibutramin, a substance included in the toxic list under the Toxic Law in Singapore (Singapore Poisons Act).
Urbanism Candy also contains sennosides, a drug used to overcome constipation. SFA says sibutramin is a slowing drug that can only be used with recipes and has been banned in Singapore since 2010, as it increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
Other serious health effects that have been reported due to the use of sibutramin include heart problems and disorders of the central nervous system such as psychosis and hallucinations.
"Sibutramin is also reported to cause seizures." said SFA.
The consumption of sennosides can cause side effects such as stomach pain, cramps, diarrhea, and low potassium levels in the blood which cause muscle weakness or cramps.
In addition, sennosides can also cause laziness to defecate, namely when the intestine muscles become too relaxed, so bowel movements become rare and end up on chronic constipation and dehydration.
The four products are sold through various e-commerce platforms. SFA has collaborated with the platform to remove all listings of these products. SFA has also issued warnings to related sellers to immediately stop selling the product.
