Climbers Fall On Mount Rinjani, TNGR Joint Team Evacuates

A joint team from the Gunung Rinjani National Park Center (TNGR) evacuated a climber from Malaysia who fell while climbing on the Torean route in the Mount Rinjani area.

"Regarding climbers who fell on the Torean route, they are currently still in the process of being evacuated," said Head of Forest Ecosystem Control Budi Soesmardi in Mataram, quoted from ANTARA.

The incident began when the victim's initials RA from Malaysia and his entourage climbed through the Torean route. However, on Saturday (03) at 13.00 WITA, the victim was reported to have fallen by Guide.

"Currently the victim is still in a falling position awaited by the tour leader of the group and three people from the track organizer," he said.

The evacuation process is ongoing in coordination with the Mataram Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas Mataram) as many as 10 people, the EMHC Team as many as 8 people and the East Lombok SAR Potential as many as 11 people.

"The victim is part of a group of 23 people who have been climbing since May 1, 2025 through the Sembalun route," he said.

He hopes that the evacuation process will run smoothly and safety will be a top priority.

For this incident, it is hoped that all climbers will remain vigilant and careful when climbing in the Mount Rinjani area.

"Ascension is an adventure, but safety is the main thing. Stay alert, take care of each other and respect nature," he said.
