Making Chaos, Police Secure A Number Of Labor Day Provocateurs In Semarang

Police have secured a number of provocateurs of rioting Labor Day in Semarang.

The police have arrested a number of people suspected of being provocateurs in the Labor Day action in front of the Central Java Governor's Office in Semarang, Thursday, which ended in chaos.

Semarang Police Chief Kombes Pol. M. Syahduddi said a number of provocateurs who were arrested were suspected of being Anarko's group and students who infiltrated the labor action.

"We are still collecting data for the exact number that is secured and asking for information," he added, quoted from ANTARA.

He explained that the action of workers which was held from morning to evening was smooth and peaceful.

"When the workers were about to end the action, a group of people suspected of originating from Anarko and students provoked the officers who secured the action," he said.

The group that infiltrated, he continued, provoked by burning tires and throwing stones and bottles at officers.

The police, according to him, took firm action by disbanding the actions that fall into the anarchist category.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol. Artanto added that the action held by the workers had actually been running safely and peacefully.

"Even the aspirations of the workers were also received directly by the Governor of Central Java," he said.

The police themselves are still investigating the provocation motives of the group suspected of infiltrating the labor action.

Previously, the police dispersed an action to commemorate Labor Day in front of the Central Java Governor's Office on Jalan Pahlawan, Semarang City, on Thursday afternoon, after allegedly being provoked by a group of people dressed in black among the workers.

A group of people dressed in black then joined the mass action at around 15.00 WIB.

Chaos broke out after the labor group would disperse after completing the action.
