The New Capital City Of Indonesia Brings The Concept Of The City Of Pancasila In Today's Memory, April 30, 2019

JAKARTA Memories of today, six years ago, April 30, 2019, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono announced the concept of the new capital city of Indonesia as the city of Pancasila. This concept was taken so that the capital city of Indonesia could prioritize the value of Pancasila.

Previously, President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) wish to move the capital city of Indonesia to strengthen. He considers that Jakarta is no longer capable of becoming the capital city. Jokowi wants Indonesia to have a government center that is far from pollution, traffic jams, floods, and densely populated.

No one doubts the importance of Jakarta as the capital city of Indonesia. Jakarta is known as a city that is able to record many of the history of the journey of the Indonesian nation. The Youth Pledge is present in Jakarta. Likewise with the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence.

The image of the capital city makes Jakarta's progress quite rapidly. Development is everywhere. However, the problem of Jakarta began to appear one by one. The uncomfortable atmosphere of Jakarta began to be felt. There are floods, traffic jams, pollution, and dense space.

The Indonesian government is starting to get dizzy with the problems faced by Jakarta. Jokowi even considers Jakarta unfit to carry out its mandate as the capital city of Indonesia. Jokowi began to think about moving it. He tried to close the plan with his staff.

The desire to move has received a positive response. The options for the location of the capital city are just starting to be discussed. There is an option for the capital city to be moved outside the Jakarta area with a radius of 60 kilometers. There is also the option of the capital to be moved outside Java Island.

If it persists in Jakarta, the government wants to turn the Monas area into a new government. However, the government finally chose to move the capital city to Kalimantan. There are three location options: Palangkaraya (Central Kalimantan Province), Tanah Bumbu (South Kalimantan Province), and Panajam (East Kalimantan).

"To review choosing three locations that are this alternative, the central government involves the World Bank. The reason for the involvement of the World Bank is because the central government considers the institution to be independent and objective in making decisions."

"I was born in Central Kalimantan, I am almost 50 years old, but this is the first time I have heard of earthquake vibrations. The tremors are very short. So, it will not affect the plan to move the capital city of Indonesia," said Central Kalimantan Regional Secretary Fahrizal Fitri as quoted by the COMPASS.com page, July 14, 2018.

The plan to move the capital city is seriously discussed. The Ministry of PUPR has begun to prepare a design plan for the capital city of Indonesia. Later, the Minister of PUPR, Basuki, proudly announced the design concept of the new capital city of Indonesia which carries the concept of Pancasila on April 30, 2019.

The concept of Pancasila in question is a city that carries Pancasila values. A design that contains the identity values of the nation, sustainability, progress, and the use of technology. This is stated in the form of aspects of denial and infrastructure development.

"We have a design concept, it can be applied anywhere. But this is just a design concept, our design concept is Pancasila City. It's still a long way off, we still have to meet with the DPR, it's not a unilateral decision. There must be dpr approval, it's not that easy."

"In addition, several other stages must also be passed, including the stipulation in the law. There will definitely be a new law related to it. Not purely APBN. Maybe through the KPBU scheme (Government Cooperation with Business Entity), maybe the private sector will also enter. Not purely all APBN, no, it's impossible," Basuki said as quoted by the coverage page 6.com, April 30, 2019.
