Zarof Ricar Asks For IDR 1 Billion For The Administrators' Film, Lures To Take Care Of The Case

JAKARTA The former Supreme Court (MA) official, Zarof Ricar, is said to have asked for help in the form of money to finance the filming entitled The Pengadi. As a reciprocity, Zarof promised to help take care of the judicial case.

This was revealed by lawyer Bert Nomensen Sidabutar, who was presented by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) as a witness in the trial of the alleged bribery and gratification case with the defendant Zarof Ricar.

The incident began when the prosecutor read out Bert's investigation report (BAP), which stated that there was a meeting between him and Zarof. During the meeting, Zarof asked for Rp1 billion in funds.

Bert explained that the meeting occurred because of their old relationship, which was established when the two were alumni of the Faculty of Law, University of Christian Indonesia. They met again at a halalbihalal event.

"So, his name was chatting, I asked how he was. After retiring, I asked what his activities were. He said he was making a film *The Court*. I joked, 'a lot of money', then he said, 'this is all I need money'," said Bert while testifying at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor), Monday, April 28.

According to Bert, at that time Zarof said he needed funds for film production, but did not immediately offer assistance related to case management. On the other hand, Zarof lured Bert with the advantage of the project.

During the trial, the prosecutor investigated the request for assistance.

"Assisting in what kind of thing?" asked the prosecutor.

"Helping film funding," Bert replied.

"Has the nominal been mentioned?" asked the prosecutor again.

"At first it was not mentioned. A few days later I asked, then it was conveyed 'one'. I was confused, what one meter is. It was explained, one meter means Rp1 billion," explained Bert.

Finally, Bert handed over Rp1 billion in Rp100 thousand denominations to Zarof. The handover of money was carried out in the Jalan Senayan area, South Jakarta.

"So it is true that the witness handed over Rp1 billion to the defendant?" asked the prosecutor.

"That's right," answered Bert.

"In what currency?" asked the prosecutor.

"One hundred thousand," Bert replied.

Bert added that after receiving the money, Zarof then offered to help in handling ongoing cases in court.

"Regarding the 1 m money that the witness submitted, was it only related to the problem of making the film earlier?" asked the prosecutor.

"No, it's like this. When he said 1 billion, because he had said, 'bert, if there is a case, maybe I can help', right. I had a case by chance, coincidentally. I tried to send it, only 2 sheets if I'm not mistaken," said Bert.

"What are you sending?", said the prosecutor.

"The case, case number, yes," said Bert

"Can you explain what case number?," said the prosecutor.

"If I'm not mistaken, that's the civil one, 2291. The other is 290 or 790," said Bert.

"What stage is that in?" asked the prosecutor.

"It's being processed at the Central Court," said Bert.

It is known that Zarof Ricar was charged by the prosecutor with receiving gratuities of Rp 915 billion and 51 kg of gold for 10 years as an MA official. In addition, Zarof was charged with being a case broker in Ronald Tannur's acquittal.
