Prosecutors Asked To Open CCTV, Prove Wahyu Setiawan's Testimony About Hearing Sources Of Bribe Money From Hasto

JAKARTA - PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto's legal team challenged the KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU) to display CCTV footage of the smoking room on the second floor of the KPK Building. This request was submitted to test the truth of the testimony of former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan regarding the source of bribes in the interim replacement case (PAW) for members of the 2019 2024 DPR.

Hasto's attorney, Ronny Talapessy, said Wahyu's testimony was odd and needed to be supported by concrete evidence.

During the trial, Wahyu admitted that he heard the conversation between Donny Tri Istiqomah and Saeful Bahri, who said that the bribes came from Hasto, when they smoked in the KPK's second floor room after being arrested.

"If this is to enforce the law, why not just present the CCTV? Let it be clear whether the chat is true or not," said Ronny to reporters, Friday (25/4/2025).

Ronny highlighted the discrepancy in time. According to him, if there really is a change in testimony, then the logic will happen to the next BAP, not when it was first examined.

"Donny and Saeful have only been questioned once after the arrest on January 8, namely on the 9th. Changes in information should appear in the follow-up BAP, such as January 21 or February 11", he said.

He also added that in criminal law, one testimony without the support of other evidence was not strong enough.

"If the public wants this case to be transparent, let's encourage the public prosecutor to present the CCTV. If it can't, then Wahyu's statement should be doubted," added Ronny.

Diketahui pada persidangan sebelumnya, Wahyu menjelaskan informasi sumber uang suap itu didapatnya saat mendengar chatgan Donny dan Saeful di Gedung KPK usai ditangkap dalam kasus Harun Masiku.

At that time, on the sidelines of the examination process, Wahyu had time to rest while smoking in the KPK's second floor room. There was Donny and Saeful chatting.

"At that time I was secured at the KPK, I smoked, so at that time I smoked, they chatted," said Wahyu.

"The point is he said that in the first stage, this was said by their chat (Donny and Saeful) from Pak Hasto (the source of bribes). I was in a silent position and I didn't know that, but I heard the conversation," Wahyu said.
