Ahead Of The Hajj Season, The Indonesian Consulate General Prepares A 24-hour Congregation Protection Team In Makkah, Medina And Jeddah

The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) formed a team that was alerted during 1x24 to serve and protect Indonesian pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj season or 1446 Hijri.

The Indonesian Consul General in Jeddha Yusron B. Ambary said his party was trying to focus on ensuring the security of Indonesian pilgrims who performed this year's Hajj.

"The Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah formed a congregational protection team. The main task is 24-hour standby, both in Mecca, Medina and Jeddah, to respond to various cases that have occurred to our congregation," he explained in a press statement at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, Thursday 24 April.

He further explained that the cases faced by regular Hajj pilgrims were lost passports, unreadable fingerprints, to people who had been banned from the Saudi Arabian government but received Hajj visas so that when they arrived they could not enter.

"Then another case that we face a lot is the ignorance of the congregation of local regulations in Saudi Arabia, so that many incidents such as them were arrested for example taking photos carelessly or taking pictures together using banners or for example using certain attributes during the Hajj pilgrimage," said the Indonesian Consul General.

He explained that matters like those above could be resolved by negotiating without further legal proceedings, if the information was quickly obtained by the Indonesian Consulate General in the Republic of Indonesia.

"Our cooperation with the Hajj officers is quite good. So every time there is a case of information, it comes quickly to us and the Indonesian Consulate General's protection team immediately contacted the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia," explained Consul General Yusron.

"Alhamdulillah, so far there have been no legal cases that have continued and then further prosecuted from the Hajj pilgrims (Indonesia)," he concluded.

It is known, the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah (PHU), has officially set a hajj travel plan (RPH) or schedule for 2025.

In the announcement, the first batch of prospective pilgrims is scheduled to enter the Hajj dormitory on May 1, 2025 and will depart for the Holy Land on May 2, 2025.
