YouTube Bug Makes Homeless, Google Is Investigating The Problem

A number of users reported a new bug on YouTube that caused the home page to appear empty or display only a few videos. YouTube is aware of this issue and states it is conducting an investigation.

In a post on YouTube's official community forum, one of the YouTube team's moderators discusses bugs that have recently been complained about. This bug makes YouTube's main page not display recommended videos, or show just a few and that doesn't match user interests either.

YouTube mentions that these bugs appear on various platforms, both in mobile app versions and on desktop/web. This indicates that problems are likely to occur in the recommendation algorithm system, not just technical errors on the display side.

Although not all users experience it, more than 80 votes in forum posts show that quite a lot of users are affected.

The impact for Creators and Users Recommends on the main page is one of the main drivers of traffic to YouTube videos. When this feature is interrupted, the creator can lose the audience, and users don't get relevant content according to their preferences.

Unfortunately, in YouTube's official statement so far, there has been no confirmation of improvement. The YouTube team simply said that they were "investigating this problem."
