ASN Moves To IKN Postponed, Doesn't Get Prabowo's Blessing
Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Rini Widyantini said the transfer of state civil servants (ASN) to the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, was postponed until further directions were received from President Prabowo Subianto.
This was conveyed by Rini during a working meeting (Raker) with Commission II of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 22.
Rini said that initially the transfer of ASN to the capital had only begun in 2024 and continued to 2025.
"We have submitted a letter of postponement to all ministries, institutions and ASN employees regarding the postponement of this transfer through a letter from the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform which we signed on January 24, 2025," said Rini as monitored by VOI on YouTube Commission II of the DPR RI.
"And the essence of the letter is that the transfer of ministries, institutions and ASN employees which are planned for 2024 cannot be carried out considering the arrangement of the work management organization of some ministries and institutions in the Red and White Cabinet," he continued.
According to Rini, ministries and institutions in the new cabinet are currently still in the internal consolidation stage.
In addition, adjustments to office buildings and residential units for ASN are still ongoing until the end of 2024. The number of ministries and institutions has also changed along with the preparation of the new cabinet.
"Therefore, the plan to transfer ASN to IKN has certainly not been implemented. As for the final schedule, we have not received any direction from the President (Prabowo Subianto)," he said.
"Considering that the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) regarding the transfer to this day has not yet been signed by the president," he added.

He added that the Kemenpan RB will re-screen ASN which will be transferred to IKN. This process will begin in 2026.
"It is necessary to make re-adjustments, so that the transfer policy is in line with changes in organizational structure and strategic priorities from the future government," said Rini.
"For this reason, in 2026, we will re-screen by considering the latest IKN development strategy, so that this transfer process becomes relevant, directed and in line with national priorities," he continued.
