Examiniing Stepanus, The Corruption Eradication Commission Investigates Money Flow From The Mayor Of Tanjungbalai
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has investigated police investigators, Stepanus Robin Patujju and Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial on Tuesday, April 27.
The two of them testified to each other to complete their respective investigation files regarding the alleged bribery to stop the investigation of cases in Tanjungbalai City.
"The SRP suspect and the MS suspect are each being examined in their capacity as witnesses for the case files of the suspects in question", said KPK spokesperson for prosecution Ali Fikri in his written statement, Wednesday, April 28.
In the interrogation, there were a number of things that were investigated by KPK investigators regarding both of them. This includes the flow of money in this bribery case.
"What has been confirmed includes the deepening of the alleged flow of money received by the SRP suspect, either given by the suspect MS (M Syahrial) or by other parties", said Ali.

As previously reported, the KPK appointed its investigator, Stepanus Robin Pattuju, a lawyer named Maskur Husain, and the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M. Syahrial as suspects in the alleged bribery case in the handling of the case of sale and purchase of positions at the Tanjungbalai City Government.
Stepanus Robin Pattuju and Maskur Husain are suspected of having received a bribe from M. Syahrial amounting to IDR 1.3 billion from the IDR 1.5 billion deal. The bribe was given so that Stepanus would help stop the investigation into the alleged sale and purchase of positions in Tanjungbalai that the KPK is currently investigating.
Apart from the bribe from Syahrial, Markus Husain is also suspected of receiving IDR 200 million from another party. Meanwhile, Stepanus from October 2020 to April 2021 is also suspected of receiving money from other parties through bank transfer in the name of Riefka Amalia, amounting to IDR 438 million.
The initial collision in this case began when Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament Azis Syamsuddin introduced Stepanus and M Syahrial at his official residence. This Golkar Party politician is suspected of knowing Stepanus from his aide who is both from the Bhayangkara Corps.
