Dogecoin Fans Mourn, DOGE Creator Dies

JAKARTA - The core developer of Dogecoin (DOGE) named Sporklin reportedly passed away on Saturday, April 24. He died after struggling with cancer.

The sad news was conveyed by one of the founders of DOGE, Billy Markus. Sporklin died a few days after "Doge Day" was commemorated by Dogecoin fans around the world on April 20.

"He (Sporklin) devoted the last seven years of his life to Dogecoin with all his efforts", wrote Markus via his personal Twitter account @BillyM2K, Tuesday, April 27.

"He will be missed very much. RIP", added Markus.

Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency that is currently on the rise. Dogecoin uses the Shiba Inu dog symbol, which was often used as a meme in 2013. DOGE was also created just for a parody of other cryptocurrencies. Dogecoin was created by two programmers named Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer.

Launching Benzinga, Sporklin is one of the oldest people and holders of the ranks of cryptocurrency development with the theme of Shiba Inu. In February, he briefly left the Dogecoin project because he did not agree with the project's goals and also because of personal health.

In March, Sporklin posted a note in the Reddit R/dogecoindev community. He said he no longer had any relationship with the Dogecoin project or with the Dogecoin Core Developers and that it was time to "step back".

Because the goals, motivations, and desires of the Dogecoin core team had changed, Sporklin felt that they were no longer in line with them because the team's ideals had changed course. In addition, Sporklin also emphasized that he prioritizes his health more.

His last post on Reddit made it clear that Dogecoin was more than just a joke that Elon Musk played. He also reminded me that the role of the Tesla boss was like a celebrity and had no significant influence on the Dogecoin project.

"Elon has nothing to do with Dogecoin, it has been made clear over and over again ... Elon has been playing with Dogecoin for years on social media", wrote Sporklin.

Sporklin revealed that Elon Musk has now changed because of Dogecoin fans. Even so, he still disagrees with the influential people playing DOGE on his social media.

“It's only recently that people have tried to turn it into something else… Things don't change… Elon doesn't agree with anything, Elon has nothing to do with projects, lists, agreements… nothing. He's a meme and a troll”, he wrote in a Reddit post.

Sporklin is quite firm in dealing with people who consider Doge as a joke. Sporklin is a staunch supporter of Dogecoin's decentralization. On several occasions, he explained that DOGE has evolved rapidly precisely because there is no central party that regulates it like fiat money and the central bank.
