Banten Police Chief Ensures Normal Crossing After Pier 6 Repair
SERANG - Banten Police Chief Inspector General Suyudi Ario Seto ensured that the crossing for the 2025 Eid homecoming flow at Merak Port, Cilegon City, remained normal, after repairing Pier 6 which was previously damaged.
Suyudi said that his party and the ranks had checked at Merak Port, covering Piers 1 to 7.
"We have checked at Merak Port, covering Piers 1 to 7. Currently, the crossing situation is running smoothly and the flow of vehicles is still in normal condition," said Suyudi as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 24.
The Ketupat Maung 2025 operation will take place from March 23 to April 8 and will be implemented in three main ports in the Banten area, namely Merak Port, BBJ Port, and Ciwandan Cilegon Port.
The Banten Police Chief explained that a vehicle distribution scheme had been established to facilitate traffic at the port.
His party has set a scheme for distributing vehicle flows to optimize the smooth running of traffic at the port, namely ASDP Merak will be used for four-wheeled vehicles such as private cars, pickups, small and large buses, as well as medium tank trucks.
Meanwhile, Pelindo II Ciwandan will serve Class VI.B/VII trucks and motorcycles. Meanwhile, Bojonegara BBJ will be intended for Group VIII trucks, food transport trucks, and Class IX trucks.
In addition, supporting facilities have also been prepared, such as portable toilets in ports, rest areas, and buffer zones. The government also presents static and mobile MSMEs to meet the needs of food and beverages for travelers.
The Banten Police Chief said that to reduce traffic density, the odd-even system would be implemented on 27-30 March 2025.
"To reduce traffic density, the odd-even system will be implemented on 27-30 March 2025. Vehicles that do not comply with this rule will be diverted to arterial routes. In addition, the delay system will be implemented at KM 43 and KM 68 to regulate vehicle flow and prevent buildup on the toll road to Merak Port," said Suyudi.
