Cirebon Police Close 40 Rounds Back During Homecoming 2025

CIREBON - Cirebon City Resort Police (Polres), West Java implemented traffic engineering in the area, by closing 40 turning points (u-turns) to anticipate a surge in vehicle flow during the Lebaran 2025 homecoming season.

The head of the Cirebon City Police Traffic Unit, AKP Ngadiman, said that this scheme was implemented to unravel the potential for congestion, especially in arterial routes in Cirebon City, which is the meeting point for vehicles from various directions.

"Apart from the 40 points, there are still 10u-turn others, such as at the Tentative Central Farming Gas Station and Aston Hotel. If there is a density, we will immediately close it," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 21.

Not only u-turn arrangements, the police ensure that several major intersections in Cirebon City remain open so that people's mobility remains smooth.

The intersection, he said, was in the Kanggraksan, Pemuda, Harjamukti Terminal, and Rajawali areas which became the node for the movement of vehicles from Jakarta to Central Java and from Kuningan Regency.

"So these four intersections can still be accessed, so as not to hinder the movement of vehicles. Traffic density is predicted to occur in a number of vulnerable points, such as Tentani and Kanggraksan, which are the vehicle meeting routes from Kuningan Cirebon," he said.

Ngadiman said a special team had been prepared to be deployed at strategic points, to anticipate congestion.

In addition, his party also mobilized a congestion description team which was divided into six groups to serve in their respective areas.

"This team is ready to move quickly if there is a density on the Pantura route or in the city," he said.

The peak of the homecoming flow is expected to occur on March 27 and 28, 2025, with the increase in vehicle volume starting to appear this weekend.

"Saturday tomorrow there may be an increase in the flow and on Sunday we are ready to hold Operation Ketupat," he said.
