JAKARTA - The first day of Eid 2025 transportation at Sampit Port, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan), as many as 1,146 travelers departed for Semarang and Surabaya using two ships.

"Today, the first two ships departed at 09.00 WIB, then the second was 10.00 WIB. The total today is 1,146 passengers," said Head of the Sea Transportation and Port Business Section of the Sampit Class III Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) Office, Gusti Muchlis in Sampit, Friday, March 21, confiscated by Antara.

Today is the first day of transportation for Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri or 2025 AD. This year's Eid transportation period is only 20 days from March 21 to April 8, 2025 or from D-10 to D+10 Lebaran.

This is slightly different because in previous years the implementation of Eid transportation was carried out for 30 days, namely D-15 to D+15 Lebaran.

The two ships that departed on the first day of Eid transportation were KM Dharma Ferry VI and KM Kirana III belonging to PT Dharma Lautan Utama.

KM Dharma Ferry VI to Surabaya carrying 446 passengers, 30 four-wheeled vehicles and 14 motorcycles, while KM Kirana III to Semarang carried 700 passengers, 45 four-wheeled vehicles and 47 motorcycles.

Muchlis said the number of passengers was confirmed to increase compared to normal days, but it was estimated that there would be no significant increase. Moreover, this year's Eid transportation period was set for only 20 days, even though in previous years it was 30 days.

"Our prediction is that the increase in passengers compared to last year was only 15 percent because many also went home early," said Muchlis.

In the implementation of Eid transportation, his party only calculated the number of passengers from D-10 to D+10 Lebaran. Meanwhile, departures before March 21 are not included in the passengers of the Eid 2025 transportation season.

"During last year's Eid transportation, there were 22,553 travelers, while in 2025 the number of travelers is predicted to reach 25,936 passengers or an increase of about 15 percent from last year," he said.

During this year's Eid transportation period, the number of ships departing from Sampit to Surabaya and Semarang 9 calls or departures. PT Dharma Lautan Utama operates two ships with a total of 5 calls, while PT Pelni operates 3 ships with 4 calls.

"There have been two calls departing, so there are seven calls remaining. Today the ship's capacity has been fulfilled. If it is calculated since the beginning of Ramadan, there may have been more than 5,000 passengers departing," said Muchlis.
