Surakarta Palace Holds Ramadan Night Carnival
The Surakarta Hadiningrat Kasunanan Palace held a irregular night carnival or the 21st night of Ramadan this year.
"So this is the celebration of the evening of the brawl. So the Surakarta Kasunanan Palace over dawuh dalem Kanjeng Sinuhun Paku Buwono in the 13th, like in previous years during the month of Ramadan, we held a prayer ceremony," said Pengageng Sasana Wilapa Surakarta Palace Hadiningrat KPA Dany Nur Adiningrat as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 20.
He said the tradition is to commemorate the moment Muslims enter the 21st night of Ramadan.
"Entering the odd night, entering the night of Lailatul Qadar," he said.
In the carnival, he said, there was a convoy of Sewu tumpeng which meant a thousand months of night.
"So this is a culturally wrapped religious ceremony to remind you that on odd nights Lailatul Qadar nights or thousand months of nights," he said.
In addition, there is also ting or light which means a thousand months of night light.
"Given the dinas, Sentono dalem, the sons and daughters of all the people of Surakarta, the people of Java that we are entering the 21st night, the worship is increased, is brought together, is ethical in mosques, praying to Allah that our deeds of worship will be accepted," he said.
It is also hoped that the kindness of this month of Ramadan can inspire eleven other months.

The series of carnivals was carried out starting from the Surakarta Palace to Kebon Rojo Sriwedari. Arriving in Sriwedari, the carnival group will be received by representatives of the Surakarta City Government.
"This is a form of synergy between the Surakarta City Government and the Surakarta Palace as in previous years that went well," he said.
