Commission I Of The House Of Representatives Approves TNI Bill Brought To Plenary Session To Be Ratified Into Law
JAKARTA - Commission I of the DPR approved the Draft Law (RUU) Number 34 of 2004 concerning the Indonesian National Army (TNI) to be brought to level II talks or plenary meetings.
This approval agreement was taken in a plenary meeting of the TNI Bill between Commission I of the DPR and the Government at the DPR building, Tuesday, March 18.
Initially, the Chairman of Commission I Utut Adianto said that all stages of the process of discussing the TNI Bill had been passed by the DPR and the government.
"Starting from the arrival of receipts, assignments from the leadership to Commission I, and we have invited all stakeholders, and finally we have completed the committee meeting," said Utut in the meeting room, Tuesday, March 18.
Utut then invited representatives of 8 factions in Commission I of the DPR RI to express their views on the TNI Bill. All factions stated that they agreed to bring the TNI Bill to the second level discussion or the DPR RI plenary meeting to be ratified.
"Furthermore, I ask for approval. Is the bill on amendments to Law Number 34 of 2004 concerning the Indonesian National Army for further approval at level II talks in a plenary meeting of the DPR RI to be approved into law, can it be approved?" asked Utut followed by the approval of the meeting participants.

On the same occasion, the Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas hopes that the next TNI Bill can be approved into law in a plenary session of the DPR. The DPR scheduled a plenary meeting to be held on Thursday, March 20, the day after tomorrow.
"Level I talks as we have listened together that all factions give their opinions and agree to discuss the draft TNI Law at level II talks for decision making," Supratman said.
"We hope that the draft TNI Law can be mutually approved in a plenary meeting of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia. So that the draft TNI Law can be ratified and enacted into law," he continued.
